Who May Participate?
The National Wind & Percussion Workshop is designed for students, educators, professionals and band enthusiasts, but you must be a rising 9th grader or older to participate, be able to read music and be proficient on your instrument. Only traditional band instruments are eligible. Brass, woodwinds, reeds, double reeds, and percussion.
Choose a Track
There are two tracks to choose from.

| Performance | This track focuses on instrumental performance Students will participate in the NWP Concert Band and a chamber group. |
| Observation | This track is ideal for educators available and offered for adults only. Observe students or audit seminars and classes on your own schedule. Playing status or non-playing status. |
Choose a Playing Status
There are two playing statuses to choose from: playing and non-playing.

| Playing | You will be assigned to play in the NWP concert band and chamber group (high school seniors and younger must sign up for this status). |
| Non-Playing | You will not play in any ensembles. If you want to choose this status you must be at least 18 years of age. |
Audition Materials
Your placement in ensembles will be determined by a live audition on the first day of the workshop. Please prepare the following sheet music for your audition. Choose the part that is best for you based on your instrument and your ability level.| Audition Materials | |

Fee Schedule
The fees for the workshop are as follows:

| Commuter Fee | $450 | This covers the cost of tuition, but no meals or lodging. Choose this option if you plan to commute to NWP . |
| Under 18 Resident Fee | $725 | This covers NWP tuition, five nights of lodging in the Shenandoah University dormitories, and meals in the Shenandoah University dining hall (Monday lunch through Saturday lunch). You will be assigned a roommate. Participants may request a preferred roommate and NWP will try to honor all such requests. Linens are not provided, so please bring your own. Dormitories are air conditioned. |
| Adult Resident Fee | $775 | This covers NWP tuition, five nights of lodging (private room) in the Shenandoah University dormitories, and meals in the Shenandoah University dining hall (Monday lunch through Saturday lunch). Linens are not provided, so please bring your own. Dormitories are air conditioned. |
